Emma McKeon (born May 24, 1994) is an Australian competitive swimmer. She is Australia's most successful Olympian, having won eleven medals in her career, including five gold, two silver and four bronze.
Swimming Career: McKeon has competed in three Olympic Games: Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024. She specializes in freestyle and butterfly events.
Olympic Games: At the 2016 Rio Olympics, she won a gold medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay, as well as bronze medals in the 4x200m freestyle relay and the 4x100m medley relay. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she became the first Australian athlete to win seven medals at a single Olympics, winning four gold medals, three bronze medals. She won gold in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay.
World Championships: McKeon has also achieved success at the World Championships, securing multiple medals in relay and individual events.
Commonwealth Games: She has competed in multiple Commonwealth Games, earning numerous medals.
Personal Life: Emma McKeon comes from a family with a strong swimming background. Her father, Ron McKeon, and her uncle, Rob Woodhouse, were both Olympic swimmers. Her brother, David McKeon, is also a competitive swimmer.
